OUR APPROACH

design thinking for skills, mods, rigs and gigs

  • 1. sense

    [idea] —————>

brainstorms. concept sprints. blue skies. no limits.

every project starts right here. a whisper of an idea, a memory of a sound, a mod that plays different. work it out. doodle it. verbalize it. know it.

  • 2. sketch

    [design] —————>

focus. first drafts. rough cuts. wireframes.

this is the drafting table for your sound, set, or mod. You sensed the idea, the memory, the moment. now grid it out. give it form. see it. walk the line.

  • 3. build

    [prototype] —————>

hack the sound. write the code. crank the mod.

turn the sketch into a thing. structure the bones, dial in the feel, start shaping the build into something real. breathe life into it. shop and DAW.

  • 4. break

    [test] —————>

turn the thing into a pile of rubble. on purpose.

burn the guitar, blow up the drums, aphex the signal, eat the brown m&m. find the points of failure, what breaks, refuses to fail… under pressure.

  • 5. stitch

    [iterate] —————>

pick up the pieces. put them back together…

better. turn to face the change. put the wreckage and the gold to the anvil. rearrange, rehearse, remix, rewrite. you might find… you get what you need.

  • 6. make

    [launch] —————|

break on through to the other side.

you can hold it, see it, hear it, play it. final render. final rehearsal. final word. time to leave the lab. switch on. step out. turn it on again.
